Our Historic Showroom

Our showroom, the Old Wool Exchange has a long and rich heritage. In 1895, Major Robert Swan Stephen, commander of the Second Douglas Volunteer Rifles, purchased the land to build a drill hall for the Isle of Man Volunteers.

Completed in 1896 the building served as the base of the volunteers throughout the First and Second World War and also served as the main recruiting office for soldiers signing up. The building was later used as a rifle range, and latterly as the Isle of Man Wool Exchange & Wool Control Centre.
